Art Description

By Henri-Edmond Cross. Cross painted this the year he moved permanently to the south of France. The Mediterranean light broke his color palette open. Two figures, the shore, the water, all of it built from small deliberate dots of color that only resolve into a scene when you step back. The original is in the Barnes Foundation.
